How the Super Bowl changed

  1. 2010–13

    Four champions, four identities

Green Bay's passing, the Giants' rush, Baltimore's veteran core and Seattle's defense produced four distinct champions before one team could seize the decade.

  2. 2014

Butler changes history at the goal line

Seattle stood one yard from repeating when Malcolm Butler drove on the slant. His interception gave New England its first championship in a decade and launched its second title run.

  3. 2016–19

The comeback, the Philly Special and Mahomes's arrival

New England erased a 28–3 deficit, Philadelphia answered with a fearless offensive upset and Kansas City ended the decade by beginning a new championship era.
